Okay, I was watching Torchwood today. Episode 3, Season 1, Jack's teaching Gwen how to shoot a gun when he says
"Straight line to the silence"
The Silence! How did they get in there? Is it just an expression or could it be that people have been planning things for a very long time. Jack's supposed to come back for the 50th anniversary, and there's certainly going to be Silence there. Could it be that he meets the Silence and because of his special trait somehow remembers them? Then he goes to Torchwood. Jack's a time traveler too, I wouldn't be surprised if he met the Doctor, met the Silence, found his hand(the Doctor's), gave it to him, etc. And what about the Weevels? Unevolved Silence, perhaps. Major breakthrough or pointless observation? I'll let you decide.
